On behalf of ProjectComment’s 52 Week Comment Challenge:
“Write a constructive comment the way you would if it was someone else's work”
I like many things about this picture. First of all, the main character is also a part of the landscape, which makes me think if he’s actually a living creature, or if it’s just a fairy light, or some sort of a sacred place. The ambience is charming and calm, but the cracks in the stone add sadness. It works for me as a concept and I would like to see more places and creatures of such world.
As a speedpaint it doesn’t have to be all neat, but I suggest adding few sharp details, it will give the painting ‘finished’ look. Waterfalls are hard to draw, and you did it fine fore a first try, I think more training will increase your skills in this field. I like the way splashes shine in the green light.
The whole colour scheme fits the picture. The only suggestion I can add is to make the violet flowers less intense. Now they compete with complementary green eye color, so the picture has to main points. If you will focus viewer’s attention on the eyes, the effect will be stronger.
Overall, I like it a lot, and it will be great to see finished version.
